Meeting Rentals

Host your next meeting in one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the nation. The Leopold Center is a beautiful, unique facility located in rural Wisconsin near Aldo Leopold’s “refuge from too much modernity,” the Leopold Shack and Farm.

Surrounded by lovely woods, wetlands, and prairies, it’s an ideal place to retreat from daily workplace distractions and have a productive, reflective meeting in a setting that deeply inspired Leopold.

Facility Highlights

Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council as a Platinum LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building, the Leopold Center is among the “greenest” buildings ever constructed in the United States. Many of its components, including its walls, flooring, and furniture, were made from recycled and locally harvested materials installed by local craftspeople and contractors.

In fact, much of the center’s wood came from trees planted on our property by the Leopold family in the 1930s and 40s, making the connection to Leopold palpable.

Meeting Spaces

We have two spaces available for group rentals:

  • Outlook Meeting Wing with a capacity of 30 people
  • Home Range Hall with a capacity of 30 to 80 people

Availability

We typically require at least one month’s notice to book meeting spaces. Most Saturdays are reserved for our own programming, but many weekday dates are available throughout the year in the Outlook Meeting Wing, and mid-April to early November for the Home Range Hall.

Our standard rental rates are for meetings taking place during normal, weekday business hours. The facility is not available for private events such as wedding receptions. We approve requests for professional gatherings during evening hours on a limited basis.

Programs for Meeting Participants

We encourage you to schedule time with our education staff during your meeting. We offer a variety of programs, including tours of the Leopold Shack and Farm and the Leopold Center’s “green” design elements, as well as talks about Leopold’s land ethic and the work of the foundation today.
