Volunteer Transcriber (Remote) 

Help us transcribe Leopold’s writings in the Shack Journals that inspired A Sand County Almanac. No experience required, and time commitment is flexible.

August Update: We are now in the reassignment phase of your project and will follow up as soon as more pages become available. The Transcription Center is closed until September 1st. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Volunteer Transcriber Sign-Up

Volunteers will fill out this form each time they would like to be assigned pages to transcribe.
Please enter a number from 1 to 30.
Each page can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on length and legibility.
I understand that I must submit my transcription within three weeks of page assignment, regardless of the number of pages. Your pages will be reassigned to a new volunteer if not received on time. Please fill out this form again to be assigned more pages.(Required)

Land Stewardship Volunteer (On-Site; Baraboo, WI)
