Celebrating 75 Years of A Sand County Almanac!
2024 is a particularly significant year as we mark the 75th anniversary of A Sand County Almanac. In recognition and celebration of this beloved conservation classic, the theme of this year’s calendar is: What Did Aldo Observe? This special edition calendar would not have been possible without our recent work to transcribe the Shack Journals and without counsel from Dr. Stanley Temple, professor emeritus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and recent inductee to the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame.
The Aldo Leopold Foundation has recently made huge strides in land stewardship and in growing our global community through online programming, anchored by Leopold’s work and words. When we add up all those who engaged this past year with our website, social media pages, e-newsletter subscriptions and virtual programming, more than 400,000 people in the U.S. and abroad are now part of the land ethic community!
Your support for the foundation’s mission places you in the company of so many dedicated to nurturing the land. We hope our shared work inspires you as much as you inspire us. A growing land ethic is not possible without you.
Please consider a gift today to further our critical work to care for the “natural, wild, and free.”
