Although The Aldo Leopold Foundation is currently closed to visitors through March, start planning now to make your pilgrimage to the Shack, we’re working hard to get it ready for you and others. Can’t wait to see you!

McCale Carter

Education Coordinator

I grew up in Minnesota among the lakes, fishing, camping, and herping (catching amphibians) my way into the environmental field. My passion for the outdoors and people grew into a profession after achieving my Bachelors in Environmental Education and Interpretation at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. For the past six years I have been working for various non-profits in Colorado. It was an incredible experience to teach, lead, learn, and play in the awe-inspiring Rocky Mountains. Yet, I have always felt called back to the Midwest where I first found my footing as an environmental educator. I am excited to be joining the team at the Aldo Leopold Foundation as the new Education Coordinator and create connections between people and the land ethic!
