We are pleased to announce a rare opportunity to join the full-time staff of the Aldo Leopold Foundation. We are now accepting applications for a Communications and Marketing Coordinator to work at our headquarters facility in Baraboo, Wisconsin. This is an entry-level position with growth potential within the organization.
This is an ideal opportunity for a communications professional with some experience under his/her belt looking to grow and develop with a small non-profit organization. Based in Baraboo, Wisconsin and headquartered at the green-built Leopold Center, the Aldo Leopold Foundation works to foster care for people, land and communities through the legacy of Aldo Leopold. While we are located in a small rural community, our reach as an organization is global, and communications and marketing efforts are a key part of this presence.
As Communications and Marketing Coordinator, you’ll be a part of our committed education and outreach staff team. You’ll have a chance to get experience with a wide range of projects, and your daily work schedule will be anything but routine. You’ll write news and blog posts for the website, help coordinate promotional strategies and tools to raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and drive visitation to the site, and have a chance to bring business sensibility to our organization as we launch a concerted marketing effort to increase program and membership revenue in key areas.

As a key communications contact for the organization, you’ll connect with renowned writers, scholars, artists and conservation leaders drawn to the Leopold Center and the work of the Aldo Leopold Foundation from around the world, and you’ll draw inspiration from the Leopold Shack and Farm daily.
A National Historic Landmark, the Shack is the iconic place where Aldo Leopold himself developed many of his most powerful ideas. For more than 20 years, the foundation has carried on the Leopold family’s tradition of caring for this land, while also engaging educators, citizens, natural resource professionals, and others in building a land ethic and fostering land health in their own communities.
