A global movement that started in 2012 with a simple idea: encourage people to do good. Now, each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, millions of people around the world give back to the causes, issues, and organizations nearest and dearest to their hearts. This day of giving holds extra weight in 2020, when many organizations have had to shift the way in which they operate.
From the CEO of GivingTuesday, Asha Curran, on the GivingTuesday website: “As a global community, we can mourn this moment of extreme crisis while also finding the opportunity to support one another. We each have the power to make an impact with acts of generosity, no matter how small, and to ensure the sustainability of organizations and services that are crucial to the care and support of our communities.”
