Aldo Leopold’s “Land Ethic” essay was intended to expand the concept of “community” to include not just humans, but also the land, which includes soils, waters, plants and animals. The intersection of the land community and the human community is a powerful place, and we believe it’s where a land ethic is built. The Aldo Leopold Foundation started this blog to create a place where people who are working to build a land ethic can connect with and learn from one another.
