Rick Fedrizzi, president and CEO of the US Green Building Council presents the council’s highest award to Nina Leopold Bradley and ALF Executive Director Buddy Huffaker. The Legacy Center received Platinum certification from the council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program.

BARABOO, Wis. (AP) -- The foundation named for famed ecologist Aldo Leopold received an honor Thursday that would have made the conservationist proud: the U.S. Green Building Council named the group's new home the greenest building it has ever rated.
"This building does things that people are dreaming about," said council president Rick Fedrizzi. "There are people out there saying, 'Somehow, somewhere a building will be able to do that.' This building is doing it today."
